WAV stores audio without compression, so DJ software reads it instantly and your DAW never has to decode it while you edit. Many promo pools, labels and USB setups also expect WAV, which is why “SoundCloud to WAV” is one of the most searched downloader requests among DJs.
No converter can add detail that the stream does not contain. SoundCloud serves compressed audio, and converting it to WAV keeps that audio exactly as delivered, without a second round of lossy compression. You get the highest quality the source allows, in the format your tools prefer.
